On a smaller scale

As I’ve started to experiment with the tiling patterns that have intrigued me for a long time I decided to start small. Jewelry boxes are a great way to test out patterns, combinations of woods, scaling, and other details. Of course being smaller doesn’t make construction easier (or quicker!) but it does mean I can use a lot of scraps from other projects and veneer samples I have around – so at least the raw materials don’t cost much.
